For the third year in a row, Capespan is the recipient of a prestigious Refresh Award. Having been acclaimed Importer of the Year 2008 and 2009, Capespan has just won the 5 A Day Supporter of the Year category in the 2010 awards.
'This acknowledgement by our industry peers means a lot. It is recognition of the dynamism of our team and Capespan's commitment to promoting the healthy eating message' says Martin Dunnett.

TV's Quentin Wilson, FPC ceo Nigel Jenney, and collecting on behalf of Capespan International Ronan Lennon, Cathryn Gull and Alistair Phillipson.
Capespan won the 5 A Day Supporter of the Year Award primarily for its work with schools as a principal supplier of fresh produce into the NHS Schools Fruit and Vegetable Scheme (SFVS), which aims to regularly supply 2 million 4 to 6 year old school pupils with a range of 5 A Day approved fruits, vegetables and fruit products.
The scheme reaches 16,000 schools and Capespan International has used the opportunity to improve fresh produce consumption repertoire and promote trial of new products, as well as organising competitions, prizes and school visits, which reinforce the 5 A Day healthy eating message.
'Our activities are imaginatively conceived, well targeted and well executed. Our initiatives in support of 5 A Day campaign reach an extensive and receptive audience, carried by the 38 million units that Capespan supplies into the SFVS scheme every school year. Based on feedback and uptake, we have no doubt that our efforts have made a substantial contribution to delivering the healthy eating message and stimulating the consumption of fresh fruit and vegetables in the grown ups of tomorrow’, says Capespan's Cathryn Gull the Account Manager responsible for schools.
