Position: Software Business Analyst
Location: Dublin, Ireland

As part of the overall software infrastructure that underpins the groups business Total Produce has a large body of in-house developed software under the brand FreshTrade primarily providing Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) functions.  Having grown organically over a period of years the Group IT strategic plan over the next five years calls for an ambitious program to transform the platform into a world beating solution and to mold the team into a world class Product Development shop.

As a result of this expansion Total Produce currently has a number of vacancies for Software Business Analysts within Group IT. The positions will be based in the group’s HQ in Dublin reporting to the Business Application/Product Manager.

 

About the Role:

Reporting to:  Business Application/Product Manager

The role of Software Business Analyst in Total Produce reports to a Business Applications/Product Manager and has responsibility for application implementation and support of FreshTrade, a large scale group software implementation and will be involved in all aspects of the software lifecycle. The post holder will be expected to travel and to contribute during branch software implementations and conduct on site end user training. They will be expected to be flexible in terms of working hours and some out of office hours working may be required.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Develop an in-depth understanding of the FreshTrade platform and the underlying business.
  • Implementation & Support of the Total Produce Strategic ERP and other Business Applications in Ireland, the UK and Europe.
  • On-site support during application implementation.
  • Gathering and documenting end user requirements.
  • Assist in the optimisation of systems, processes and reports.
  • First point of contact for end user application queries and support issues.
  • Replicating and logging of fault calls.
  • Undertake software testing, including creating of test plans.
  • Applying software patches and updates.
  • Communicating status of logged queries with site (help desk).
  • Facilitate and engage in on site end user training and ad hoc support.
  • Will assist with the maintenance and support of all IT systems and infrastructure when required.
  • Will be required to learn new technologies as appropriate.
  • Occasional out of hours’ support.

Skills and Experience:

  • An analytical and organised approach to problem solving.
  • Some exposure to software development tools and software testing would be advantageous.
  • Some experience in interpreting business and user requirements and providing IT solutions.
  • 2 years’ experience working in an IT role preferable.
  • Knowledge of FMCG or Fresh Produce Business would be advantageous.
  • Project Management experience / skills advantageous
  • A good general IT background and experience in supporting common operating platforms.
  • Excellent communication skills at all levels within a commercial environment.
  • Strong reporting and documentation skills.
  • Knowledge of Rapid Application Delivery Platforms would be advantageous.
  • Professional approach when dealing with clients.
  • Demonstrate ability to prioritise, take ownership and responsibility for tasks.
  • Must have current and valid permission to work in Ireland or the UK.
