Taoiseach Leo Varadkar Assured Of Total Produce Commitment To Keep Supply Chains Open On Visit To Dublin Central Distribution Centre

On Friday, March 27th , it was our pleasure to welcome An Taoiseach, Leo Varadkar TD and Heather Humphreys TD, Minister For Business, Enterprise and Innovation to Total Produce Swords, one of our five national Retail Central Distribution Centres in Ireland.  The Taoiseach and Minister Humphreys met with Total Produce plc Chairman, Carl McCann and Managing Director of Total Produce Ireland, Des McCoy before taking a tour of the facility, observing the stringent hygiene protocols in place throughout the CDC.  Social Distancing and best Health & Safety practices were adhered to at all times throughout the visit.  On the agenda were the implications of COVID-19 for the fresh produce sector, the extraordinary unity of purpose and cooperation evident across the supply chain from growers to retailers and our shared determination to keep supply chains open.   The Taoiseach and Minister Humphreys were further assured of Total Produce’s commitment, confidence and capacity to ensure the ongoing availability of a full range of fresh fruits & vegetables on retails shelves in the days and weeks ahead.  The visit of An Taoiseach and Minister Humphreys concluded with a Press Conference to the national media in attendance.
