Congratulations Rory !

Dublin, Friday, March 31st 2017.
Total Produce CEO Rory Byrne is to be honoured this evening at the UCD Business Alumni of the Year 2017 awards fundraising dinner at the InterContinental Hotel, Dublin.

The Alumni Awards, which have been running since 1991, are the highest honour UCD Business bestows upon its graduates, recognising alumni who have demonstrated proven leadership skills, notable achievement in business and a significant contribution to the community, whether in Ireland or abroad. Rory, who is being honoured alongside Aer Lingus Chief Executive Stephen Kavanagh will join a list of prominent business graduates of UCD’s Smurfit post graduate and Quinn under graduate schools who have previously been honoured.

Speaking of this year’s winners, Professor Ciarán Ó hÓgartaigh, Dean, UCD Business, said, “For more than 100 years, UCD College of Business has led the way in educating future business leaders many of whom have gone on to have transformative careers in business in Ireland and abroad. UCD College of Business has been proudly honouring and celebrating the outstanding achievements of our graduates for over 25 years, since the inception of the ‘Alumni of the Year’ awards in 1991. We are delighted this year to be celebrating the achievements of two exceptional alumni, Rory Byrne and Stephen Kavanagh as ‘Alumni of the Year 2017’. Both men have vast business experience and are extremely passionate about the fresh produce and aviation sectors respectively. Both have demonstrated extraordinary leadership and integrity within their organisations and are highly regarded within the business community in Ireland and abroad. The characteristics which they exemplify continue to inspire future business leaders and students. We at UCD Business are enormously proud of their achievements which we are pleased to celebrate through this award, and we wish them continued success in their careers.”
