Total Produce UK named Foodservice Supplier Of The Year at prestigious Fresh Produce Consortium Fresh Awards 2017
Congratulations to our colleagues in Total Produce UK and specifically those in our UK Foodservice division on winning the “ Foodservice Supplier Of The Year” title at the Fresh Produce Consortium’s Fresh Awards held in the Intercontinental London on June 8th. The Fresh Produce Consortium is the UK’s fresh produce trade association. The voice of the UK industry, the FPC plays a unique and crucial role in supporting the growth of the UK fresh produce sector and its members’ businesses from picking and packing to retailer and restaurant. The FPC Fresh Awards are widely regarded to be the most prestigious awards in the UK industry, the “Oscars” of fresh produce!.
Speaking of the awards, Nigel Jenney, Chief Executive, Fresh Produce Consortium noted: “The Fresh Awards are the ultimate accolade from the UK fresh produce industry to its very best. Our industry should be proud of its high standards of excellence, strong leadership, innovation and business acumen showcased by this year’s winners and finalists. All the winners and finalists deserve recognition for their outstanding achievements.”
Noting that the accolade was awarded in recognition of TPUK “coordinating a customer focused network of local depots”, Richard Clements, Operations Director of TPUK’s foodservice division said: “Recognition from your peers is a wonderful thing so we are absolutely thrilled to have won Foodservice Supplier Of The Year. To be one of the finalists in such a strong field was an achievement in itself but to actually win the award really was a terrific honour. It is a testament to the hard work we see in our colleagues every day, the length and breadth of the country and a recognition of their commitment to differentiating both our produce and the service we provide.”
